Operation 731 Site

Operation 731 represents the collection of high-impact initiatives that Millennials For Memphis will pursue in 2016 and 2017. These efforts will rely on financial capital, collaborative community partnerships, our network of millennial game changers, and seasoned community leaders. Learn more about them below.

An Accelerator For Millennials Who Love Politics.

The Millennials In Leadership (MIL) Incubator is designed to cultivate a new class of political leaders. The highly competitive 18-month program will graduate a group of talented millennials who are prepared with wisdom, resources, and a war chest to ensure a successful race for office in the County’s 2018 election. The MIL Incubator goes beyond merely sitting at the table and works to ensure young leaders are actively engaging in the decisions that move Memphis forward.

Those interested in serving as candidates, campaign managers, fundraisers, community organizers, volunteer organizers, and analytical advisors are encouraged to participate. Applications become available in April.

Something To Do For Every Millennial In Memphis

#901Millennials serves as the gateway to move young professionals and families from the couch to the community. Through our #901Millennials event calendar, we will highlight unique experiences for the modern Memphis millennial. Political events like the #MillenniChat series or our “purely social” quarterly mixers are sure to be included, but we’re also excited to introduce (or highlight) the dozens of other awesome mixers, workshops, and service events hosted by our partnering organizations each month.

202K Millennials In Memphis?! Where Are They?

This is a question our group asked immediately upon learning the jaw-dropping statistics about our demographic in Memphis. The simple answer: they’re surviving. It’s difficult for millennials with low wages, no voice, and minimal support to help move Memphis forward. Imagine, the impact our generation would have if we all could do more than survive. The Millennial (Re)Connection Project seeks to address that. By helping young people clean their records, obtain new job skills, and connect with quality mentors, the (Re)Connection Project aims to break the cycle of poverty and discontentment that affects at least one-third of adult Memphians under 40.
